Liposuction Advances

Liposuction is a fat removal procedure for women (and men) who are of generally normal weight but have isolated pockets of fat; this normally works best for the thighs, bottom and stomach as it can treat this problem when some other methods fail. Unfortunately, an unwanted side effect to this procedure is the return of the fat on occasion; but not necessarily in the region it was originally taken from.

Two basic techniques of removal are used; the tumescent technique and Ultrasonic. The most popular of these two methods, Tumescent, is performed routinely now in the USA as a treatment for unwanted fat. With this technique, a smaller tube is used to remove the fat which helps limit the amount of bruising which normally occurs. The main reason Tumescent liposuction has become so popular with cosmetic surgeons is because the addition of adrenaline to the solution reduces the blood loss that often happens when more traditional methods are used.

Some of the most awkward areas to remove fat from are the thighs, hips, back and upper stomach region but Ultrasonic liposuction makes this possible. During the more traditional technique it is difficult for the surgeon to see where the probe is and therefore it is possible to puncture or damage internal organs. As always the best course of action for a prospective patient is to speak to the surgeon who is going the carry out the procedure and learn what method is best suited for them.

As with any type of medical procedure, liposuction does have some risk attached although professional cosmetic surgeons take great care of their patients. In preparing for the procedure, individuals are required to undergo a series of physical examinations to determine whether or not their health is good enough to have it performed. Keeping the wounds clean and free from infection after the procedure is imperative so plastic surgeons prescribe antibiotics to all patients during the healing process. Fortunately though, in the past few years much progress has been made in the field of cosmetic surgery in respect to this procedure.

Lipo dissolve another type of liposuction involves a series of injections of a compounded mixture of drugs into areas of body fat: including saddlebags, double chins, hips and other hard to reach places. Because Lipo Dissolve does not cause any pain, it can be performed without the need for any anesthetic and be used with other skin treatments that do not require surgical intervention.
